INSTALLATION/UNINSTALLATION

Q: I have purchased PCTV4ME and want to install it on my desktop *AND* laptop. How can I do this?
A: A single purchase of PCTV4ME provides you with a single license key that can be used to register PCTV4ME on a single computer. If you wish to install PCTV4ME on more than one computer simultaneously you must purchase a license for each computer. Please reply to this email if you would like to receive a discounted quote on multiple licenses.

Q: I cannot download the installation file, the installation file is corrupted, or otherwise does not work.
A: Please make sure you are using Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, or AOL7 or higher. Also disable any download manager/accelerator applications as they are known to interfere with the script-based downloads we use.

Q: How do I uninstall?
A: Simply click Start \ Programs \ PCTV4ME \ Uninstall    or use the Control Panel's Add\Remove Programs feature. If that fails make sure PCTV4ME is not currently running and manually delete the folder c:\program files\pctv4me

Q: Will PCTV4ME work on a Mac? Linux?
A:
You can review the product requirements here: http://www.pctv4me.com/requirements/ PCTV4ME is currently compatible with Microsoft Windows 98/Me/2000/XP. There are no plans at this time to create a version compatible with the Mac, Linux, or any other non-Microsoft Operating System.

Q: Does PCTV4ME come with free upgrades?
A:
Our current plan is to offer all PCTV4ME program and channel updates for *FREE* for one year from the purchase date. There is also the option to purchase the Pro version which will provide free channel updates for the lifetime of the product.

Q: Please give me your full channel list.
A:
We do not currently publish our channel list. However, you can install the application, allow it to update the channel list, and see the most current list right in the application.

Q: Can this work over dialup? What kind of connection is required?
A:
Nearly all radio channels and some TV channels will work over a dialup internet connection. Others will require a broadband connection. You can see the bandwidth requirements for each channel listed directly in the program. Click the column header to sort the channels by bandwidth to help you in choosing channels appropriate for your internet connection.


SECTION: PROGRAM ERRORS

Q: Where are all of the channels? How do I update the channel list?
A:
To view all channels first make sure your channels are updated to the current list by clicking Tools \ Options and then selecting the Channels Update tab and clicking Check Now. Once your channels list is up to date return to the main interface and click the Channels tab, set Category to All, set Medium to All, and uncheck Show Favorite Channels Only. All channels available will now be displayed.

Q: I'm having issues with playback of the channels. Help?
A:
In an effort to correct or troubleshoot channel playback issues please do the following:

1. Update your media players. You can access download links to the latest media players from our Requirements page on our website here: http://www.pctv4me.com/requirements/
2. Make sure you are viewing channels that have advertised bandwidth at or below the bandwidth available to your internet connection.
3. Close or disable other programs that may be using your internet connection.
4. Try the same channel again at a later time. Some channels are not broadcast continuously or have reached their maximum simultaneous user connections which are controlled by the broadcasting server and not PTCTV4ME.

If you still experience playback issues please reply with specific details regarding the channel(s) you are having issues with and any messages (buffering, etc.) that are being displayed on top of or below the playback window while viewing those channels.


Q: I can't play Real Player channels. But I do have Real Player installed.
A:
Please update your media players to the most current version. You can access download links to the latest media players from our Requirements page on our website here: http://www.pctv4me.com/requirements/

Q: I can't play Windows Media channels. But I do have Windows Media Player installed.
A:

Q: I cannot record a particular channel. Why?
A:
The ability to record a particular channel is fully controlled by the provider of the media stream. You should find nearly all channels are recordable all of the time with only a very few channels restricted from being recorded.


REGISTRATION

Q: I cannot register my copy of PCTV4ME or my registration number is not working (or any other registration related questions).
A:
Please make sure you are connected to the internet and that any firewall software is configured to allow PCTV4ME to connect to the internet. Also make sure you are entering your serial number/registration key as it appears in the email sent to you, including the dashes.
